Sample Outings
All Castle Island students, ages 3 through 12, embark on regular outings enriching their topics of study from the classroom.
Here is a list of sample trips to locations throughout the region:

CMOST
Children explore animals and how their habitats at the Children's Museum of Science and Technology in Troy.

New York State Museum
Student play with construction principles using recyled materials.

Indian Ladder Farm
Children listen as the steps involved in producing cider are shown at the farm.

Earth Day Bike Parade
Annual participation in the city wide bicycle parade held in Washington Park on Earth Day.

Day of the Dead
Children decorate sugar skulls, eat a traditional Mexican meal and study an altar remembering past deceased relatives in recognition of the Central American celebration of the Day of the Dead.
