Our enrollment application is available as either:

or email: Diane Nickerson, School Director, diane@castleislandmontessori.org

Castle Island’s mission is to provide world-class, financially accessible education; most families qualify for an income-based tuition scholarship. Tuition for your child will be between $4,500 and $11,000 per school year ($450/month - $1,075/month) based on annual household income. In addition, Castle Island is an approved site for Daycare Subsidy Site through the Capital District Childcare Council and Military Fee Assistance through Child Care Aware of America. A subsidized tuition rate may be available for families who qualify.

If you are interested in qualifying for a Tuition Scholarship, please include evidence of the annual household combined income used to support your child, ie. income tax returns, pay stubs, order of support, etc. Within a week, an enrollment contract will be sent to you with options for before and after care and for payment plans.

3. ENROLL Submit Contract with $250 Deposit

When you are ready to enroll your child at Castle Island, bring the completed contract to the school where you and the School Director will sign it together. The signed contract and the non-refundable $250 deposit will hold a space for your child.

In the contract, we ask you to:

  • Choose a tuition schedule that works for you.

  • Consider Castle Island for at least one three-year cycle for your child.

Our program offers a three-year curriculum at the primary level (3 to 6 year olds), at the lower elementary level (6 to 9 year olds), and at the upper elementary level (9 to 12 year olds). We ask families to commit to a full cycle leading up to the next level in order to fully realize the benefits of a Montessori education. We encourage your family to stay with us as we anticipate growing to educate your child through 8th grade.

  • Commit to attending as many family and parent events as possible throughout the school year. Attendance at monthly events helps to build our community and provides great opportunities for your child to more easily share his or her experiences at school with you.

We look forward to welcoming your family to Castle Island!

There is in every child a painstaking teacher, so skilful that he obtains identical results in all children in all parts of the world. The only language men ever speak perfectly is the one they learn in babyhood, when no one can teach them anything!
